Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to interior design services provided by Bowles Interiors Ltd (“Bowles Interiors”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By engaging our services, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms.

Our Services

We provide bespoke interior design services, which may include consultations, concept development, space planning, sourcing and procurement, styling and project coordination.

The scope of each project and our fees will be outlined in a written proposal or agreement. Any work requested outside the agreed scope may be subject to additional fees.

Fees and Payment

Our fees may be based on a fixed fee, hourly or daily rate, percentage of project expenditure, procurement fee, or a combination of these, as agreed in advance.

A deposit may be required before work commences. All invoices must be settled within 10 days unless otherwise agreed.

We reserve the right to suspend work where payments are overdue, following reasonable written notice.

Reasonable project-related expenses outside the agreed scope may be charged separately where agreed with the Client.

Changes & Client Approval

Any significant changes to the agreed scope or design direction may result in additional fees and changes to the project timeline.

The Client is responsible for reviewing and approving designs, layouts, materials, finishes, furniture and other specifications before orders are placed or work proceeds.

Approval given by email, WhatsApp or another written communication will be considered Client approval.

Where the Client changes their mind after approval, any resulting additional work or non-recoverable costs will be the Client's responsibility.

Budgets & Estimates

Any budgets or cost estimates provided are indicative unless expressly stated to be fixed.

Supplier prices, contractor costs and other third-party expenses may change during the project. Bowles Interiors will use reasonable efforts to work within the agreed budget but cannot guarantee that final project expenditure will exactly match an initial estimate.

Sourcing & Procurement

Where Bowles Interiors purchases or orders items on behalf of a Client as part of an interior design project, full payment may be required before the order is placed.

Bowles Interiors may receive trade discounts, commissions or other commercial benefits from suppliers and, unless otherwise agreed, is not required to pass these on to the Client.

This section applies only to sourcing and procurement undertaken as part of our interior design services. Purchases made through the Bowles Interiors shop are governed by the separate policies applicable to the shop.

Contractors & Third Parties

Bowles Interiors may recommend or coordinate with contractors, tradespeople, suppliers and other third parties.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, these parties operate independently and are responsible for their own workmanship, conduct, technical compliance and health and safety obligations.

Where the Client contracts directly with a third party, Bowles Interiors will not be responsible for that party's independent acts or omissions, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

Timelines & Delays

Project timelines and completion dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Bowles Interiors will use reasonable efforts to meet anticipated timescales but is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including contractor or supplier delays, product availability, unforeseen site conditions, delayed Client decisions or changes to the project.

Client Responsibilities

The Client agrees to provide accurate information, timely decisions and reasonable access to the property where required.

The Client is responsible for obtaining any necessary planning permissions, building approvals or other consents unless Bowles Interiors has expressly agreed otherwise.

Intellectual Property

All original design concepts, drawings, layouts, mood boards, presentations and specifications created by Bowles Interiors remain our intellectual property.

Once all applicable fees have been paid, the Client may use these materials for the project for which they were created but may not reproduce, sell, distribute or use them for another project without our prior written consent.

Photography & Publication

Bowles Interiors reserves the right to professionally photograph and/or film spaces and elements designed, specified or styled by us upon completion of the project, subject to reasonable prior notice and access being arranged with the Client.

We reserve the right to take photos and videos during site visits and the design process, and retain the right to share all above imagery for our portfolio, website, social media, marketing, press, editorial features, publications and other promotional purposes.

Client privacy will be respected. We will not publish the Client's name, address or other directly identifying information without permission, and we will use reasonable discretion to avoid personal or private information appearing in photographs.

If a potential Client does not consent to photography, this must be stated prior to the commencement of working together, as this may result in Bowles Interiors declining the project.

Liability

Bowles Interiors will provide its services with reasonable care and skill.

We will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or the independent acts or omissions of third parties contracted directly by the Client, except where the law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so or affects the Client's statutory rights.

Confidentiality

Bowles Interiors will use reasonable care to protect confidential information provided by the Client and will not disclose it except where reasonably necessary to provide our services or where required by law.

This does not prevent Bowles Interiors from using project photography in accordance with the above clause.

Cancellation & Termination

Either party may terminate the project by providing 14 working days' written notice, subject to any statutory cancellation rights.

Where a project is cancelled after work has commenced, the Client remains responsible for fees for work already completed and any non-refundable or non-recoverable costs properly incurred on their behalf.

Where applicable, consumer Clients may have statutory cancellation rights, including a 14-day cancellation period for certain contracts entered into at a distance or away from business premises. Nothing in these Terms affects those statutory rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Both parties agree to use reasonable efforts to resolve any dispute in good faith before commencing legal proceedings.
